The Harvard Divinity School’s Andover–Harvard Theological Library will grow beyond a half million volumes this year, so to celebrate the milestone librarians from the libraries of the Boston Theological Institute consortium joined librarians, faculty, and staff at the Divinity School on October 15 for a reception and book signing. The book selected to represent the half millionth receipt was Daniel Aleshire’s Earthen Vessels: Hopeful Reflections on the Work and Future of Theological Schools (Grand Rapids: William B. Eerdmans, 2008). Dr. Aleshire, executive director of the Association of Theological Schools, was able to join the celebration and sign copies of his book prior to delivering an address honoring the 40th anniversary of the Boston Theological Institute.
