HUL’s Chapman, HCL’s Durocher Selected for TRLN Management Academy

Two members of Harvard’s library community have been invited to participate in the Triangle Research Libraries Network (TRLN)’s Management Academy, which was held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, from November 10–14. Stephen Chapman, program manager for Harvard University Library’s Open Collections Program, and Michelle Durocher, head of the English Division in Harvard College Library Technical Services, were selected as participants.

Thirty-six applicants from 15 US states and 21 institutions were chosen for the program, which prepares current and potential mid-level managers in academic libraries to operate with entrepreneurial and business acumen in the management of financial and human resources. Academic faculty from TRLN member institutions will present sessions customized for a library environment.

TRLN is a collaborative organization of Duke University, North Carolina Central University, North Carolina State University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Its purpose is to marshal the financial, human, and information resources of their research libraries through cooperative efforts in order to create a rich and unparalleled knowledge environment that furthers the universities’ teaching, research, and service missions.
